About this ‘blog’

The USASF Rules Process is an important stepping stone for our community to grow together.  As well as aiding in this process, this ‘blog’ is made in effort to broadcast the regional discussions and suggestions so that we may make fully educated votes at the Congress in January.  It is being written and created as the meetings go on.  Although we have some wonderful editors involved; please forgive any typos. This space is meant to be an informal, unbiased platform to review and maintain transparency of the formal process.

This site will be updated throughout the Rules Process.  Begining on July 28, check the discussions every Wednesday to see new videos and policy change forms.

To navigate through the pages:

  • The side bar and top bar are quick links to discussion topics: to find out about a discussion, see the Policy Change form or view the videos, click on the Title

Worlds

The following suggestions will be brought to the Worlds Advisory Board (WAB) for review.  This is not a matter of voting at the National Congress.  Steve Peterson remains the primary contact for all Worlds suggestions as he leads the WAB.

1) Worlds Alternates

Recommendation:
Teams will not be required to list up to 3 alternates on their squad rosters at all Worlds Bid Qualifying events.
All teams that receive a bid to Worlds, may use up to 3 alternates as part of their 10 possible substitutions.

These alternates:
* do not have to be at the event where the bid was received
* must be an official member (team participant that competes) of the gym during the 2010 – 2011 season
NOTE: Any athlete that wants to transfer from one gym to a gym that has already received a Worlds bid, must have a signed release from the gym owner of the gym he or she is transferring from before that athlete can be used as a Worlds alternate.

2) Worlds Rosters

Recommendation:   All Event Producers holding a Worlds Bid Qualifier, will be required to send (to the USASF) copies of ALL team rosters from every gym that had a team receive a Worlds bid within 72 hours after that event concludes.
